Davis Studio, Burlington VT
Led by Marie Davis, Jacquelyn Heloise

"Entrepreneurial Artists"
Many artists run their own small businesses and sell directly to their customers. In this workshop you will find out about a variety of approaches to being an entrepreneurial artist. Speak with artists who have been able to successfully make a living doing what they love. Learn about artist's markets, on-line marketing, art shows, showing work in galleries, etc. Today's technology allows an artist to have customers from across the country and around the world. We will visit several artists' studios and hear about their art and the way they run their businesses. Artists/Businesses include: John Brickels, Recycle Moe, Zoe Ink, Aaron Stein, and Marie Davis Designs. Additionally, you will be able to create your own original art inspired by one or more of the artists we visited. Examine marketing materials such as business cards or brochures and brainstorm designs for your own budding art business.
